Wrightia tinctorial
A small deciduous tree. Leaves up to 17 x 5 cm, elliptic-lanceolate, acute or acuminate at apex, acute at base, glabrous or puberulous beneath; petioles very short. Flowers 1.32 cm across, in axillary or terminal, lax, spreading cymes. Calyx с. 2.5 mm long; lobes abtuse, with scarious margins. Corolla white or yellowish; tube c. 3 mm long; lobes oblong, obtuse or acute; coronal-scales fimbriate. Follicles 2, 15-50 cm long, cylindrical, cohering at the apex.

भारत में यह प्रजाति राजस्थान, मध्य प्रदेश, गुजरात, महाराष्ट्र, उत्तर प्रदेश, छत्तीसगढ़, झारखंड, ओडिशा, आंध्र प्रदेश, तेलंगाना, कर्नाटक, तमिलनाडु, केरल तथा अन्य प्रायद्वीपीय राज्यों में प्राकृतिक रूप से पाई जाती है। यह मुख्यतः शुष्क एवं अर्ध-शुष्क पर्णपाती वनों, पथरीली ढलानों तथा 300–1,200 मीटर तक की ऊँचाई वाले क्षेत्रों में मिलती है। राजस्थान में इसका वितरण अरावली तथा विंध्याचल में है। यह मुख्यतः दक्षिण-पूर्वी एवं दक्षिणी वन क्षेत्रों में सामान्य रूप से पाई जाती है। -
