Founder- Dr. Shiv Sharma (Prof. Botany)
The Rajasthan University Botany Herbarium/Laboratory was founded in 1963. It has been given the official international recognition (acronym-RUBL). Prof. Shiv Sharma, Eminent Taxonomist (1962-1991) founded the herbarium. At present, there are 21,736 plant specimens belonging to 1,370 species which represent 700 genera and 157 families. It also has specimen from Himalayan hill stations, Pachmari, Western Ghats, Kodaikanal, Nilgiris and Krussoddai Islands, etc.
