Large evergreen shrub or small tree, usually growing 2–6 m tall. It is recognized by its long, narrow leathery leaves arranged in pairs or whorls of three, and its showy white, pink, red, or yellow fragrant flowers. Native to the Mediterranean region, Southwest Asia, and parts of the Indian subcontinent, it is widely planted as an ornamental plant in gardens, parks, and along roadsides.

Flowering & Fruiting: Almost throughout the year, mainly March–October.
Ecological Importance: Its flowers provide nectar for bees and butterflies, while the dense foliage offers shelter for small birds and insects. It is drought-tolerant and commonly used in urban landscaping.
