Moringa oleifera Lam.

A small to medium-sized, fast-growing deciduous tree, usually reaching 10–12 m in height. It is easily recognized by its soft, corky bark, tripinnate compound leaves, and long, slender drumstick-like pods. The tree bears fragrant creamy-white flowers in loose panicles, followed by long, pendulous fruits containing winged seeds. Native to the foothills of the Himalayas in northwestern India, it is now widely cultivated throughout tropical and subtropical regions. Moringa oleifera is highly valued for its nutritious leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds, which are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It is widely used as a vegetable, in traditional medicine, and for water purification using its seeds.
